Conservatory Painting in Canterbury

Canterbury Decorators repaint and respray conservatory frameworks across Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Faversham, and the surrounding villages.
A conservatory respray transforms an ageing structure without the cost of replacement. White UPVC frameworks that have yellowed can be resprayed in any colour for a fraction of the cost of a new conservatory.
- UPVC conservatory frameworks — colour change or refresh
- Aluminium conservatory frames — older structures, specialist primer
- Timber conservatory frames — Victorian and Edwardian lean-tos
- Dwarf walls and surrounding brickwork to complete the refresh
- Combined conservatory and window frame resprays

Canterbury’s Conservatory Painting Specialists
UPVC Conservatory Frameworks
White UPVC conservatories installed in the 1990s and 2000s are ageing across Canterbury’s residential areas. Replacing the structure costs £5,000 to £20,000. Respraying the framework costs £450 to £750.
We clean and degrease all UPVC profiles and lightly abrade the surface to create a key. Then we apply a UPVC adhesion primer before two spray coats of exterior finish.
Aluminium Conservatory Frames
Older conservatories from the 1970s and 1980s are often aluminium rather than UPVC. Aluminium requires an etch primer or specialist metal primer rather than a UPVC adhesion primer. We identify the frame material before quoting.
Timber Conservatory Frames
Victorian and Edwardian properties within Canterbury city sometimes have period lean-to conservatories with timber frameworks. Timber frames need exterior wood preparation, a flexible exterior primer, and an exterior gloss or satin finish.
Dwarf Walls and Brickwork
Many conservatories sit on a half-height brick or render dwarf wall. Painting the dwarf wall to complement the new frame colour completes the transformation.
Colour Options
Anthracite grey, sage green, navy, black, and heritage blues all work well. For clients combining a conservatory respray with window frames and fascias, see our exterior painting service.

Our Conservatory Painting Process
1. Assessment
We check the frame material, condition, existing paint or surface treatment, and glazing configuration before quoting.
2. Cleaning
All UPVC or aluminium profiles are cleaned with a degreaser solution. Timber frames are sanded and any rot is assessed.
3. Masking
All glazing panels, roof glass, and surrounding surfaces are masked carefully.
4. Primer
UPVC adhesion primer, metal etch primer, or exterior wood primer applied as appropriate to the frame material.
5. Spray Application
Two coats of exterior finish applied by spray for UPVC and aluminium frames.
6. Inspection and De-Mask
Masking is removed carefully, all surfaces are inspected, and any edge touching-up is completed.
